We had a fantastic evening for our Beach meeting on the 11th August. Numbers are often thinner in the summer meetings as members are off on their holidays or looking after young families, but we had a great turn out for what was luckily a beautiful evening with a stunning sunset. Members and new friends arrived at the usual meeting time, but for this one we relocated to the Margate Steps.
The committee had installed blankets and BBQ’s and a duo of hot-chocolate flasks, and aside from a brief bit of WI business, everyone proceeded to cook food, drink wine and chatter on into the night.
Margate didn’t let us down for views and the concrete steps acted as a theatre for us to watch the sun sinking into the sea by candlelight. A superb and sociable evening had by all!
